    Pick your platform

    Choose Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, LibreOffice Calc, or Airtable. For Excel you can also set the version, from Excel 2010 to Excel 365.

    Set your formula language and separator

    If your spreadsheet uses localized function names or semicolons between arguments, set the formula language and argument separator once in the formula settings.

    Describe what the formula should do

    Write the task in plain English and mention your columns or sheet names, e.g. “Sum column B only where column A equals Paid”.

    Generate, copy, and paste

  • XLOOKUP searches Sheet2 column A for the SKU and returns the matching value from column B
  • The fourth argument (0) is returned when no match is found
