What is GPTExcel?
GPTExcel is an AI-powered spreadsheet assistant that helps you generate formulas, SQL queries, automation scripts, regex patterns, and table templates. It now also lets you chat with your Excel file, convert tables in images to editable spreadsheets, generate charts and graphs, and analyze your data to produce insights and reports.
What can I use GPTExcel for?
You can generate complex spreadsheet formulas, SQL queries, automation scripts (VBA, Apps Script, LibreOffice Basic, Airtable, Python), regex expressions, and Excel table templates. Additionally, you can chat with your spreadsheet, turn photos of tables into spreadsheets, build pivot tables, generate charts, analyze Excel/CSV data, and get concise summaries.
Which spreadsheet platforms and file formats are supported?
Formulas and scripts can target Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, LibreOffice Calc, and Airtable. For analysis in Chat you can upload Excel workbooks and CSV/TSV files.
What AI tools does GPTExcel offer?
Our platform includes generators for formulas, scripts, SQL queries, and regex (each can also explain and optimize existing code), plus an Excel table template generator. Chat adds conversations with your files, image-to-table conversion, charts, a Python sandbox for data analysis and cleanup, file summaries, formula checking, and the Pivot Builder agent for native Excel pivot tables.
What file formats are supported?
Chat accepts Excel workbooks (.xlsx, .xls, .xlsm, .xlsb, .xltx, .xltm), CSV and TSV files, and images (PNG, JPG, GIF, WebP) — so you can also upload a photo of a table and turn it into an editable spreadsheet.
What languages are supported?
Our AI understands over 50 languages, including English, Spanish, Chinese, French, Russian, Hindi, and many more.
How does the chat feature work?
The chat feature lets you interact directly with your Excel file. Ask questions about your data, request clarifications on formulas, or get insights and recommendations through a conversational interface.
How does image-to-table conversion work?
Upload an image containing a table and ask Chat to convert it. The AI reads the table from the image and can give it back as a table in the chat or as a downloadable spreadsheet file.
Can GPTExcel generate charts and graphs?
Yes, GPTExcel can automatically generate charts and graphs from your data, providing visual insights and making complex data easier to understand.
What kind of data analysis and insights does GPTExcel offer?
GPTExcel analyzes your spreadsheet data (Excel/CSV) to identify trends, summarize key metrics, and provide actionable insights. It can also generate a brief report outlining the main findings of your data.
How does the free plan work?
The free plan includes every tool with lower limits: 10 AI chat messages every 30 days, 4 tool uses every 12 hours, and uploads up to 5 MB (10 files per chat). No credit card needed.
What are the limits on each plan?
Free: 10 chat messages every 30 days and 4 tool uses every 12 hours. Pro: 3,000 chat messages and 3,000 tool uses every 30 days, files up to 50 MB (20 per chat). Pro Plus: 10,000 chat messages and 10,000 tool uses every 30 days, files up to 100 MB (30 per chat).
Do I need a credit card to sign up?
No, you can sign up and use GPTExcel for free without a credit card. A payment method is only required when upgrading to a paid plan.
How is billing handled?
Billing is straightforward — you receive an invoice by email right after purchase and at each renewal (monthly or yearly), and you can download invoices from your account's billing page.
How do I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel your GPTExcel subscription at any time from your Billing page. If you need assistance, our support team is available to help.
What happens when I cancel my subscription?
After cancellation, your subscription remains active until the end of your billing cycle, after which your account reverts to the free plan.
Is GPTExcel secure?
Yes. Files are encrypted in transit and at rest, stay private unless you share them, and are not used to train AI models. Payments are processed by LemonSqueezy, so we never see your card details.

How do I upgrade?
Upgrading is simple — pick Pro or Pro Plus on the pricing page (or in your billing settings) and complete checkout. Your higher limits apply right away.

Pro ($9/month) and Pro Plus ($18/month, or 30% less billed yearly) raise your limits — up to 3,000 or 10,000 chat messages and tool uses every 30 days, and larger uploads.
